Naked & Famous Jeans

Naked & Famous Denim  uses only the most unique and rare denim fabrics from Japan. The prestigious mills in Japan, from which they import all their fabric, are committed to producing only the best (and most expensive) denim in the world. Throughout each step in denim production (weaving, dyeing, finishing…) the mills use a combination of old school and modern methods and practices. So much culture and history is poured into the fabric so that it can be appreciated by the denim purist.

Naked and Famous Jeans  keep all their denim raw and simple. No washes, no embroidery, no gimmicks… just the best fabric in the world combined with modern fits. They have eliminated these costly (and in our opinion unnecessary) after-effects, and have stripped down their jeans to the core essentials. Now true denimheads and newcomers alike can enjoy these special fabrics at a reasonable price.

Naked and Famous Denim love rare and unique fabric! Their collections have featured dozens of selvedge denim fabrics, crazy blended fabrics like Kevlar denim, cashmere denim, silk denim, wool denim, linen denim, camel hair denim and more! They`ve played with right-hand twill, left-hand twill, broken twill, alternating mixed twill, double-weaves, W-weaves, big slub fabrics, super nep and multi-color nep fabrics, chambrays, dobby cloths, and plenty more. We want to mention some selected fabrics/styles, to get an idea of the diversity in making jeans: the - with a one of a kind texture - "Weird Guy Frankenstein 2 ", soft and easy to wear "Weird Guy Herringbone Brushed Twill ", "Weird Guy Grey Selvedge " providing a vintage fade with a green tint, luxury soft with striped interior "Skinny Guy Linen Blend Denim " or last but not least the heaviest denim ever created: "Weird Guy Super Heavyweight 32oz Selvedge "!
Brandon Svarc quote (Founder of Naked & Famous Denim): "We have worked to build this jean for 2 years and I can say with certainty that it was by far the most difficult production challenge we have ever overcome. Most people ask me “why the hell would you make a pair of jeans that is so heavy and uncomfortable?” and it’s a fair question… I often reply with an analogy “Why would someone climb mount Everest?” It’s not comfortable to do, its not easy, nor is it inexpensive…people do it so they can say they conquered the tallest mountain in the world. I find that human beings are fascinated by anything that is a superlative. Well, these jeans are my denim superlative."

The brand name "Naked & Famous" is a satire of our celeb-obsessed culture. They aim to poke fun at “Hollywood” and “Glamour” brands that sell jeans for $300 and up solely because they are celebrity endorsed, and not because they are higher quality.

The N&F logo is reminiscent of 1950`s Pop-Art. Early Pop-Artists depicted the “ideal blond” as a satire of mass media and mass culture, then fed it right back to them. They intend to do the same.

Every pair of Naked & Famous Jeans are proudly and ethically Made in Canada. They benefit from high quality machinery, well-trained staff and quick reorder schedules.

Finally some words about their ideology:

„We actually don't even have a marketing dept. Unlike most brands we don't spend millions of dollars on advertising campaigns, and marketing. We rather focus our attention on making high quality denim, and delivering to the consumer at great price points. Those dollars spent to advertise jeans don't make the jeans better, but they sure do make them more expensive. We rely on our fans to help spread the good word of Naked & Famous Denim. Our concept is simple, make high quality garments with the best fabrics in the world, and not rip off the consumer. It's a strange concept don't you think.“
