Merc was born in 1967 in the centre of fashionable and chic Carnaby Street, only metres away from where the flagship store is located today. During the 1960’s, Britain saw an explosion of many bands like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, who flocked to the Mecca of Fashion, Carnaby Street.
