Selvedge denim is a rare vintage fabric made on old school shuttle looms that were originally patented around 1924. The edges of the fabric are sealed close during the weaving process creating a „self edge“, hence the term „selvedge denim“. Selvedge denim is typically heavier, more durable and of superior quality than other denims. It is also far more expensive and difficult to produce this fabric and to maintain these rare and early machines. The cotton yarn is also dyed in a unique process called Long Chain Dyeing, which is much more time consuming and tedious than other methods, but the result is a deeper indigo color and unique touch.

Left Hand Twill:
It is said that Left Hand Twill (LHT) denim is softer than RHT denim. This is due to both the yarn twist and fabric twill direction...Most denim uses yarn that is twisted in the Z-twist method. This is a counterclockwise twist, which loosens in the clockwise (right) direction - the warp gets overlapped thus creating a rough feel. But, LHT denim pulls the fabric to the left, and so the warp lines up in order, which creates a softer hand feel and cleaner appearance.
